Bottom of the table Brighton were the latest lambs to the slaughter as Reading recorded their sixth straight win on Saturday with their fourth straight 1-0 victory.

Matthew Upson, who has been immense during his three month spell at the club, was delighted to see the side rack up another victory and cement their current fifth place.

Commenting on the victory the former England under 21 man said to readingfc.co.uk: "We were fantastic again. Winning 1-0 was brilliant. As a defender it's one of the best results you can have because it shows you've done your job.

"The match at Brighton threw up a scenario similar to what we've seen before, we had to be very resilliant, making it a proper victory away from home. Everyone dug in and as a team we defended well."

Upson will play his last match in a Reading shirt on Saturday before returning to Premiership giants Aresnal at the end of his three month loan spell.

Whilst the club would dearly like to keep the defensice hero it appears they do not have the funds to afford the 23-year-old who has been coveted by many Premier League sides.
