Tyson's Reading Career KO'd

Steve Coppell chopped his squad down yet further today by selling ex-England under 20 international Nathan Tyson to local rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

The Reading squad is appearing ever more threadbare as the club's already depleated squad has also been hit by the departures of John Mackie and Darius Henderson.

Twenty-one-year-old academy product Nathan Tyson departed today after finding first team chances hard to come by at the Madejski Stadium. A frustrating reserve team life was not for our Nathan who has chosen to join Division Two relegation-certainties Wycombe.

Tys has signed a two-year contract with the Buckinghamshire side so he will stay with the club until June 2006.

But life won't be easy for the youngster at the Causeway Stadium, Tony Adams' side are planted at the foot of the second division, eleven points adrift of safety.

The capture of Tyson, who has spent two months on loan spell at the Causeway Stadium prior to today's transfer, should aid their chances of achieving promotion back to the Second Division at the first attempt.

Ex-England captain Adams, now Wycombe boss was clearly pleased to sign a quality young player with plenty of potential.

"This is great news for the club. I think Nathan will prove to be a good acquisition for us. He is quick, hard working and will score goals," said Adams speaking to Chairboy's official site.

Meanwhile, Tyson revealed that the lure of first team football, combined with the chance to link-up with Adams was too great to resist.

He revealed: "The most important thing for me is being able to play first team football. Also, to play for Tony Adams here at Wycombe I know will be good for my career."

Tyson scored three times in two months on loan at the Causeway Stadium, and Adams will be hoping for more goals from his latest signing this weekend as Wycombe take on fellow relegation-strugglers Notts County.
