The new season gets underway tomorrow with Reading travelling to Derby for their opening Division One game.

Alan Pardew believes his team are ready and is supremely confident that they can play to their potential this season.

A confident Alan Pardew told readingfc.co.uk: "I'm excited and ready for it. Like all the fans I'm waiting to see how the players perform at this higher level. I have supreme confidence in them and as long as they believe in themselves they'll do alright.

"I'll give all my players a chance to show what they can do this year. If that inner belief isn't instilled in them I'll have to change things around - thats down to the players themselves and their mindset.

"We've got some fantastic young players and some good senior players here, a nice spirit, and there is no reason why we can't get a result against Derby.

"Division one is where we want to be. We have a difficult start on paper - but thats all it is - on paper.

"The team I choose to take to the field tomorrow won't be the team that everybody else picks as we all have our own opinion."

The fans have believe the team can do well - it is quite clear to all supportrers that Alan Pardew has done a great job to get his team into the right frame of mind for the new season.

So called 'experts' on the First Division expect Alan Pardew's boys to struggle this season - but the supporter are more optimisitc about our chances due to the positive vibes coming from the camp.
