Fozzy Unsure About First Team Return

The 31-year-old striker scored the only goal of the game yesterday as Reading Reserves defeated Brighton 1-0 at the Madejski Stadium.

Yet Fozzy has not featured in the first team for nearly three months because of a stomach injury so was unsurprisingly somewhat jaded following yesterday's match.

Although the eleven-goal hitman will travel to Valley Parade on Saturday for our game with Bradford, he is unsure as to whether he will be able to play any part having had an operation on his injured abdominal region just four weeks ago.

Speaking to the Reading Evening Post, Forster admitted: "I feel tired and a bit sore. Playing is still a bit alien to me, I felt rusty.

"I don't know about playing on Saturday. It's not been spoken about yet. We'll see what the manager wants to do."

Despite facing a difficult ninety minutes yesterday afternoon Fozzy managed to make a scoring return to action. The 31-year-old, who was linked with a move to Pompey in January, scored the only goal of the game with a scuffed penalty twenty minutes from time.

Steve Coppell will hope he can field Forster for at least part of Saturday's game against Bradford, although should that prove impossible he will almost certainly persist with the Morgan - Kitson pairing that worked so effectively together against West Ham last weekend.

Lloyd Owusu looks set to miss Saturday's game with Bradford because of a chest injury, although veteran striker Shaun Goater is back in contention for a starting role. The Bermudan international wasn't fit enough to start against the Hammers last weekend having only returned from international duty the day before the match.
