"When we had the ascendancy in the first half it might have been a different game.

"But credit to Blackburn as they were a stronger and better team in second half. We can't complain too much.

"It was an opportunity wasted as they had played in the UEFA Cup in midweek, so we're disappointed not to get a point.

"The force seemed to be with us at half-time. We knew there would be a reaction and Mark would give them a lift.

"They responded by changing personal and shape but we were the architects of our own downfall as they were poor goals to concede.

"Bentley scored a tremendous goal but we gave the ball away. I brought the player on hoping he'd make a positive impact but instead he turned the ball over with his first touch."

"It was important we were positive in the second half so we made some changes.

"We wanted to be more solid in midfield to start with but were a little bit awkward and never got into the game in the way we wanted.

"Then we conceded just before half-time and that made the changes quite easy. We needed to go out there and prove ourselves and I got the result I wanted.

"We were magnificent in the second half. I lost count of the disallowed goals but we scored the ones that mattered.

"Usually I would be giving my usual response about referees getting the big decisions wrong, but fortunately not on this occasion.

"We're hurting with injuries at the moment so I'm very pleased with the response we got. We produced a second half performance of energy and power."
