Bobby Convey was set to sign for Tottenham a year ago in a $1.2m deal, but the transfer fell through when the Home Office surprisingly decided that he was not eligible for a work permit. But after playing seven out of the USA's nine internationals in the past two years, Convey should be able to complete a transfer to the UK should Spurs make a fresh approach.

It is widely thought that should Tottenham make a move for Convey they will then loan him out to Reading for a year so that he can gain first team experience.
