Bayern lead Premier League giants in race for Reading ace Michael Olise

Bayern Munich are leading the race to sign Reading starlet Michael Olise in the summer transfer window. However, both Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in snatching the French youth international.

The talented 19-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and having stated he is not willing to extend his time with the Royals, the rest of Europe is now scrambling to be first in line to land his signature.

And according to TEAMtalk, german giants Bayern are heading the queue to steal Olise for a minuscule figure this summer. Die Roten would only be required to pay a minor compensation fee for the out-of-contract starlet, making him an absolute bargain in the current climate.

This move wouldn't be Bayern's first dealing with Reading, either. The Bundesliga champions have already snapped up Royals defender Omar Richards on a pre-arranged free transfer, and Olise could be following his teammate out of the Madejski Stadium at the end of the season.

It's not only Bayern who have been attracted by Olise's impressive form in the Championship, however. More than half of the current Premier League sides have enquired about the teenager's availability, while 90min revealed Leicester City's interest back in December.

However, English football regulations dictate they would be forced to pay a higher fee than a foreign club, such as Bayern.

Top-flight outfits Man City and Chelsea, with whom Olise has previously enjoyed spells as a youth player, may be interested in bringing him back for a second stint at the club, but Reading are demanding around £10m from any British side.

This makes a move abroad far simpler for Olise to arrange - which he is open to - as clubs may not be in favour of risking a tribunal to decide a transfer fee, should they fail to agree terms with Reading outside of court.

The attacking midfielder has scored five goals and laid on 10 assists for Reading this season, firing the Royals to a place in the top six, with an eye on a Premier League return.
