Right-back Graeme Murty, who used to spend more time in the treatment room than on the pitch, has received a major boost today. The 28-year-old has been told that his claf strain, sustained last week, will only sideline him for between one and two weeks.

The dependable defender missed Saturday's game against Bradford City and was said to be set for a six-week spell on the touch line. However, the results of a scan confirmed that only minimal damage has been sustained.

As next Saturday's game against Burnley has been called off, Murts is likely to miss just one further game. For next Tuesday's game against Gillingham, the new manager's debut, Ricky Newman is likely to deputise.

Meanwhile, big centre-forward Darius Henderson has returned to Reading at the end of his one month loan spell with the South Coast side. The 22-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could tomorrow find that his manager is the same as last Saturday.

Up-and-coming prospect Andre Boucard, who has also been strutting his stuff in Division Two is also returning to the Madejski Stadium. The 19-year-old, who has spent two months at Peterborough, will challenge for a first team place upon his return.
