Crocked Foz Faces Fresh Surgery Nightmare

The Royals have been rocked by the news that super striker Nicky Forster will require fresh surgery on a stomach injury.

The 30-year-old centre-forward has been limited to just three first team appearances this year because of persistent abdominal pain.

Despite playing a lively part in our recent defeats to Bradford and Norwich, the pain is still so severe that Forster must go under the knife once more in a bid to cure the problem.

Steve Coppell has sorely missed Fozzy's attacking prowess in recent months so welcomed his recent return to the team. Having watched his side stutter and stumble in front of goal of late having Forster back in the side was the perfect addition to his play-off chasing side. But Reading's recent defeats and the latest surgery revelation mean that it has all gone pair-shaped for Coppell's side.

Although Forster could play some part in Saturday's game against Crewe, after that the forward will not play again this season as he is to have surgery next Tuesday.

The Caterham-born forward was in January told that rest should cure his stomach pain, but after two months and no improvement he had an operation in March in a bid to cure the problem once and for all. Whilst the surgery was a success, Fozzy is now suffering pain on the other side of his stomach.

Despite all his injury woes, Forster has still managed to chip in with eleven goals this season. The news that the Reading number ten will require more surgery reduces Reading's already minimal chances of securing a top six berth.
