International Star to sign for Reading?

Didier Angan, a Ivory Coast international, who was linked with a move to Everton earlier in the summer, is to meet up with the Royals squad in Bavaria next week for a week-long trial.

Angan, who left French side Nice when his contract expired last June, has been on trial with a German team recently, hence the reason for the trial to take place in Germany.

Alan Pardew yesterday stated that it is 'highly unlikely' that he will make any new signings before the start of the season, and any players he does bring in will have to impress in the reserves before they get a chance in the first team.

Didier Angan, who played seventy-two times for Nice, scoring three goals, could potentially play alongside John Mackie in central defence next season.

When Adi Viveash was strechered off in Friday night's friendly against Kidderminster the Royals looked alarming short at the back, club captain Phil Parkinson had to fill in, playing out of his natural position.

Alan Pardew is expected to decide whether he wants to bring the 27-year-old to the Madejski Stadium in a weeks time.
