Alan Pardew is set to complete his third bit of transfer business this summer, it has been revealed. A statement from Reading Football Club confirmed that they hope to complete the signing of an international player tonight.

The exact identity of the player is not known however the chances are that it will be a defender as defence is the area that Alan Pardew has admitted a desire to strengthen.

However, the statement was giving no clues as to the identity of the player.

"It is thought that the new player is not one of the many players that have been linked with the Royals over the summer," said the statement.

Unofficial reports are claiming that the club are on the verge of signing Jamacian international Omar Daley from Hazard FC. The feisty 22-year-old central-midfielder has previously had a trial with Stoke City.

However, Michael Johnson is another international player who has recently been linked with Reading. The Birmingham City man is also a Jamacian international. However, it is possibly not him as Johnson is one of the players that have been linked with Reading over the summer.
