The under 21s come to the Madejski Stadium on Wednesday October 15th and Alan Pardew believes that it would be the perfect opportunity for David Platt to blood the highly-rated left-back in the Under 21 squad.

Since arriving at the club in February 2000 for a miniscule fee of £20,000 some assured performances have meant that the 21-year-old has made a first-team berth his own.

Media pundits have been giving Shorey rave reviews in recent months, but maybe a place in the under 21 squad might be a little bit beyond the young prodigee.

Alan Pardew believes that his young star is able to go on and receive high accolades in the game.

Speaking to readingfc.co.uk Pards said: "I think Nicky is ready to be looked at and thought about in terms of inclusion in the England under 21 squad. If he did play against Macedonia, or was involved in the squad, I think we'd get a full house."
