Reading face Didcot at 7.30pm this evening and Bromley at 3pm on saturday.
Coppell will use both games to give all of his squad a run out.
"These games give them something to focus on. The football itself is meaningless in many ways, it's a training exercise," the boss told the official website.
"There'll be a full change at half time at Didcot, then some of those players will also go to Bromley and maybe get 90 minutes.
"We'll make up the Saturday squad with some of those who didn't have the biggest workload last season and were back training a bit earlier this summer. We'll take maybe 20 players on Saturday."
