Twenty-one-year-old Bas Savage, who has just one start to his name in professional football, could be thrust into action against money men Chelsea tonight.

The former Walton & Hersham centre-forward, who cost Reading mere pennies in comparison to Chelsea's multi-million pound spending splurge, should tonight partner pacy frontman Nicky Forster in a two-pronged attack on the Blues defence.

The Reading number twenty is yet to score his first goal in professional football, despite having made nine appearances, eight of them under Steve Coppell's command.

How poetic it would be if the former non-league player could unravel the Chelsea revolution by sending them crashing out of the cup.

But the big frontman is hoping to break that duck, and why not tonight?

"I should be getting goals and if I keep getting games they will come. We're looking to help Fozzy share the load up there," he said to the official site.

Readings thread-bare attacking line on paper hardly appears strong enough to challenge Chelsea's European super giants. Indeed, few expect the Royals to send the Blues crashing out of the cup.

Bas admitted that the team are just looking to enjoy the game.

"We're obviously underdogs so we can go out there and enjoy ourselves. We'll work hard at the same time though," he added.

"We're expecting to go out there and show what we can do against the best. Everyone is looking forward to it."

The game, which is sure to be a spectacular spectacular, kicks off at 8pm tonight at the Madejski Stadium. A capacity crowd at the ground will attempt to roar the Royals onto an unlikely victory.
