Reading's former England winger John Salako could not be accused of underestimating the size of the next two games - he believes that they could make or break the season.

After the disappointment of Derby 'Jonny Salad' is determined to be on the winning side tonight against the Owls.

Salako told Reading World: "These games against Coventry and Sheffield Wednesday are like cup finals. The results will give an indication of how our season is to pan out.

"You can be in the top six, seven, or the bottom three and four sides after three games and I think that gives a massive indication of how your going to do. If we win our next two games we can say 'Bring them on, we can enjoy this'.

"The Derby game was strange but the fans were incredible. We perhaps went into it without the conviction and belief that we could get a result. Tonight there won't be any complexes, we'll be going out determined to get three points.

"We've got some really good young players like Nicky Shorey, Harper, Hughsey, they're all great players. They need to start establishing themselves and earning reputations.

"We've got great ability and great enthusiasm within the team and ther's no reason why this club with the players it has got shouldn't be doing well in the league."
