Royals desperate for Seaside victory

The slump in form means that the Royals are 7 points off an automatic place with 5 games to play. Reading are now 5th in the table with 69 points.

Just 6 weeks ago Reading had 62 points, were 2nd and had games in hand that would take them top.

Since then just 7 points have been gained and automatic hope has all but gone.

"Psychologically we need a win." said Steve Coppell ahead of today's game. "We're all desperate for it - if we could get the three points it would really set us up for the closing four games.

"If we were to get on a good run - a 100% run between now and the end of the season - who knows what can happen? But at this moment in time, as far as I'm concerned, we just need a three points to turn this around.

"You start the season and you want promotion. From then on for me it's about trying to win as many points as you can.

Kick off this afternoon is at 3:00pm.
