Rovers extend Andersen loan

Bristol Rovers have extended the loan spell of Reading goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen until January. Andersen moved to the Memorial Stadium on a season-long deal on deadline day last September, making 39 appearances during the campaign. The 21-year-old rejoined the club on a short-term deal last month after a back injury scuppered the proposed year-long loan of Luke Daniels from West Brom. "We are delighted that Reading have agreed to extend the loan, and we hope Mikkel can continue the progress he showed last season and produce the performances we know he is capable of over the next few months," Rovers boss Paul Trollope told the club's official website. "He is a player who has given us good service and we are pleased to keep him at the club a bit longer. He came to us at the start of the season on month's loan but we were unsure of the future possibilities." Andersen is currently on international duty with Denmark Under-21s, but Trollope is hoping to have him back and available for Saturday's game with Oldham.
