Rouge: It Was A Fantastic Result

Rouge, who has returned to the side in recent weeks, was pleased to see his side chalk up another three points, strengthening their position in the top half of the league.

The 31-year-old told his official site, anthonyrougier.net: "It was a fantastic result. Every player gave 110% out there today and thoroughly deserved the result."

The Royals are now just three points adrift of the Play-Off places but despite the result Rougier is not getting carried away.

"It is far too early to talk about promotion or the play offs, the good thing is that we are holding our own in this division, as we all knew we would do. Unfortunately Stoke and Brighton seem to be struggling in 19th and 24th positions respectively."

Despite limping off midway through the second half the Trinidad & Tobagan, who featured on both wings, is hoping to be fit for next Saturday's game at Preston.

He explained: "My foot was stamped on by an opposing player, his rear studs went through my boot and into my second toe on the right foot, it is very swollen.

"Jon Fearn and the doctor looked at it and do not feel it is broken as I can still bend it, so it is probably badly bruised. I hope with rest and God's healing powers that I will be fit for next week."

Looking ahead to the game Rouge added: "Next Saturday we are away to Preston North End. This will be a tough game, and we must carry on with the same fight and vigour. Preston are in 18th place but not be underestimated."
