The Carling Cup win aside it's been a disappointing start for Rodgers as Reading baoss when it comes to the League.

"We're obviously disappointed with the result," he said after the 3 - 0 defeat at Newcastle.

"A lot of teams coming here will find it hard, but we felt positive beforehand and for a lot of the game we did very well. But the first goal gave them momentum and we're disappointed with the goals we conceded.

"We'll draw the positives, we are building a new group, we will get better every day but this wasn't our day.

"Newcastle were better, they scored when it mattered, one of the goals coming when we were dominating the game. We're disappointed with the cross and that Ameobi has got between our defenders.

"We came out second half, they scored again and the third was a killer. But I can't ask any more, the players gave everything but we conceded at the wrong times. We'll learn from it and move on."

Can Reading find the net at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea tomorrow?
