Brief report from Reading FC, the full report can be found here on the official website.

The Royals reserves produced a stunning display to oust Arsenal in a comprehensive 6-0 thrashing of the Gunners at Madejski Stadium . Full video highlights are on Reading World now.

Shane Long was the first half hero with three well-taken goals in less than half an hour. Linking up with Leroy Lita brilliantly, Long's first was his best; drilling a low shot in off the far post to open the scoring.

Early in the second half, James Henry ensured there was to be no Arsenal comeback, striking beyond Mart Poom from Lita's pull back and the young winger went on to score twice more - the third from the penalty spot after excellent work from Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Jonathan Hayes.

A very young Arsenal XI passed the ball around well but were no match for the Royals in the final third and Steve Coppell will have been pleased to see his two strikers wreak so much havoc in and around the Gunners goalmouth.
