"Wolves lost some of their attacking threat through suspension and injury but we were very conscious of trying to have a go at them as much as possible," said Coppell

"We had some terrific opportunities apart from the goals we scored and it wasn't just backs to the wall. It was a solid performance all round.

"Sometimes being in front so early can be a burden. You are a target and everyone wants to beat you.

"It was important that we came here and played. We had to defend well but we took full advantage of the problems Wolves had."

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy will be gargling with TCP today after suffering a first league defeat of the season..

"We have been beaten by a good side who have pace and power up front, a bit like ourselves," McCarthy admitted.

"We had almost forgotten that bitter taste of defeat but the cost is huge with the injuries.

"We might have caught Michael's in time because he was just starting to feel a problem but everyone saw Matt go down. Stephen Ward also has a problem with his ribs and Andy Keogh had a knee in the back, so we have a few more problems to contend with.

"But I am proud of the start we had and I was delighted with the way we kept taking the game to them."
