Marcus Hahnemann and Glenn Little have both signed new contracts at the Madejski. They were both out of contract at the end of this season but now both have deals to 2008.

Royals director of football Nick Hammond was delighted with the news that both players had pledged their futures to the club.

"Marcus and Glen have both been instrumental figures in the success that Reading Football Club has enjoyed over the past few years," said Hammond.

"We are very pleased they have signed new contracts."

American goalkeeper Hahnemann expressed his happiness at resolving his long-term future.

"The more time I've spent here the better it's got, and I've never hidden the fact that I wanted to stay," said Hahnemann. "My family is happy here, this is the club where I made my name and got back into the (US) national team. I'm happy to sign."

Little revealed he hopes to end his career at Reading after signing his new deal.

"I want to stay at Reading until the end of my career so I had no hesitation in signing this contract," said Little.

"Things have gone well for me here, we're new to The Premiership and really enjoying it.

"There's a great spirit in the dressing room and when you're at a club where you enjoy training every day, you want to stay."
