Murray On Comeback Trail

Last updated : 06 February 2004 By Rob Cooper
Former Robins wing-man Scott Murray will tomorrow renew old battles with Cardiff City when he takes on one of his old club's main rivals.

However, ninety minutes free from injury will be on the agenda rather than a battle to settle old scores.

The 29-year-old, who yesterday heard that he is likely to be called up to the full Scotland squad when it is announced next week, is looking to step up his recovery from a leg injury so that he can participate in Saturday's game with Rotherham.

Despite scoring the winner against Nottingham Forest just over two weeks ago, Muray was forced to miss our game at home to Derby last weekend through injury. However, the Scotsman who looked to be coming back into form just before his injury breakdown, should be able to play at Rotherham this weekend.

Elsewhere in the reserve team, out-of-favour defender Ivar Ingimarsson will get some match practice at centre-back, whilst James Harper has also been pencilled in to start the game. However, Harps may have to sit out of the game if he doesn't recover from a stomach injury in time.

Recent signing Dave Kitson will partner Bas Savage up-front as he aims to build up some match fitness with a view to breaking into the first team.

Reserve team for tomorrow's clash v Cardiff City (provisional):
Young, Soares, Mullins, Newman, Ingimarsson, Boucaud, Harper, Murray, Morgan, Savage, Kitson
Bench: Rifat, Stapleton, Campbell, Cox
