Reading centre-back John Mackie admitted that he is still very disappointed about his sides failure to pick up any points at home to Coventry on Saturday.

The Royals led the game for over an hour but eventually succumbed to two late goals from Calum Davenport and Jay Bothroyd.

Following the defeat Mackie held his hands up to accept his share of the blame for losing his man when the first Sky Blue's goal went in but in truth he had an excellent game.

The stand in captain cut out attack after attack as the crowd sung "You'll never beat John Mackie!"

The 26-year-old told Reading World: "It was disappointing. I have to hold my hands up as it was my man that got away to score the first goal. But it was just one of those things.

"You have to concentrate for ninety minutes if you want to do well in this league. It's not possible to get away with too much as every little mistake gets punished.

"We still can't believe we lost really. I think we dominated the game up until they scored their goal. I had a feeling that we were going to get our first clean-sheet of the season, but you can't take anything for granted at this level.

"We were looking very comfortable, probably the best we've looked in any of the three games so far, I still can't believe we came away with nothing.

"The game at Leicester will be tough but all games are tough at this level. We have to gets omething from it."
