Hammers Game Beneficial To Club

Reading tonight entertain London side West Ham at the Madejski Stadium, and, according to Alan Pardew, the squad will benefit from playing against top players.

West Ham earlier named their squad which includes internationally famous players such as David James, Joe Cole, Trevor Sinclair, Frederic Kanoute and Raimond van der Gouw.

Alan Pardew told readingfc.co.uk: "Mainly it's an opportunity for our players to play top Premiership opposition.

"Most of the time, actually playing against top opposition is superior to training because it clarifies the points coaches try to get over like professionalism, discipline in position and not letting oppertunities slip in the last third."

Unfortunately though Bas Savage, Adrian Whitbread and Rikcy Newman will not be able to take this opportunity to play against top opposition, on-going injury problems have forced them out of tonight's game.
