Gunnarsson could return for Royals

Reading boss Brian McDermott will decide whether to stick with two strikers when his side visit Middlesbrough. McDermott fielded Shane Long and Simon Church up front at Millwall in midweek but may revert to his preferred system of playing the former as a lone striker at the Riverside. Former Leeds defender Ian Harte has made a bright start to his Royals career and will continue at left-back, leaving summer signing Marcus Williams on the bench. Veteran midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson was on the bench in midweek as he finds two games in four days too much but he could return in place of Church. Right-back Andy Griffin remains out with a hamstring injury and midfielder Jay Tabb (ankle) and Julian Kelly (hamstring) are out. Club captain Ivar Ingimarsson and Chris Armstrong played for the reserves last week after lengthy absences but are not ready for consideration.
