Gamble To Gamble On Loan Spell

Gamble, who turns twenty-one next January, has been unable to break into the first team since his move from Cork City two years ago, he has played in just thirteen senior matches to date.

Originally wanted by some of the top Premiership clubs central-midfielder, Gamble, turned down their advances, opting instead for Reading where he believed there would be a greater chance of first team football.

Jamie Ashdown recently went out on loan to Division Three side AFC Bournemouth, Gamble hopes to do a similar thing in order to get first team experience.

"I want to go out on loan and get some first team football," commented Gamble.

"Reserve team football doesn't have the pressure of having to get results and good crowds. I'd gain a lot from playing first team football on loan.

"There's been some interest from a few clubs but nothing concrete at the moment so I don't know where I would go," he added, speaking to readingfc.co.uk.

Kevin Watson and Andy Hughes are currently the Royals first choice central midfielders, but Gamble also finds James Harper and Phil Parkinson ahead of him in the Madejski Stadium pecking order.
