Gamble Demands First Team Action

Controversial midfielder Joe Gamble has aimed an attack at manager Alan Pardew for not giving him a chance in the first team after what he thought was an impressive pre-season.

The 20-year-old admitted that should he not get the first team spot that he feels he deserves he may be forced to look elsewhere to play his football.

In the meantime he would like to go out on loan, however he is worried that scouts will not get a good enough impression of his ability unless they see him playing first team football.

An angry Joe Gamble told Teamtalk.com: "I felt I did well in pre-season and I was looking to get a run in the team. I feel I should be playing but I do understand that the team are doing well. There are some very good midfielders here and you can't really change a winning team.

"I am looking to go out on loan as I'm sick of playing reserve-team football, I've had it for two years. I need more at this stage of my career.

"I spoke to Alan Pardew and he wants me to go and I can understand his point, but I want to be given a chance here so I can prove what I can do.

"It's just a matter of a club coming in and taking me, but the problem is they can only watch me in the reserves and it's harder to assess a player in those games as there's not as much at stake.

"I love it here and I don't want to leave, I have another year and a half on my contract but if I can't get many games here then I will have to look elsewhere."

"I can't see myself here in another year if I'm not playing."
