And he'll be able to express himself knowing he's just signed a new contract that keeps him at Reading until 2011.

The Australian told the club's official website: "To have signed once again is fantastic. Now I want to go on and play more games and do well for the club.

"Hopefully in the long run I can be No.1 here, and signing a long deal gives me real confidence and shows faith in my abilities from the people at the club."

Director of football Nick Hammond added: "Adam has proved to be a more than able deputy for Marcus Hahnemann whenever he has been called upon.

"He also had an exceptional loan spell at Southend United earlier this season which generated a lot of interest, so I'm delighted to have secured his long-term services following our discussions over the last few weeks.

"Now with Marcus' unfortunate injury he has the opportunity to establish himself in the team, which has always been his number one target while he has been here."
