England legends heading for Reading

Reading's Madejski Stadium, will play host to a star-studded international football match on Thursday November 12th 2009 in support of 'Help for Heroes', the charity set up to help our wounded service people.

An England squad of football legends will take to the pitch alongside stars from music, sport and film against a Rest of the World team brimming with top names in a full international match that will be broadcast around the world.

The Teams

England legends Les Ferdinand, Chris Waddle, Des Walker, Peter Beardsley and Mark Wright are signing up along with the likes of England cricketer Alec Stewart, singer Simon Webbe, actor Rupert Graves and World Champion boxer Nigel Benn the England team will boast a stellar cast of heroes, stars and champions.

Rumours are flying around the Rest of the World camp regarding who will feature in their team: Lothar Matthäus, Ian Rush, Thomas Brolin, Franco Baresi, Toto Schillachi and Gary McAllister are expected to line up alongside Boris Becker, Eddie Irvine, Rod Stewart, Kenny Logan and a host of other top international stars.

Lining up alongside the stars, will be current servicemen representing the Army, Navy and RAF who have been selected to play for their country and as representatives of the armed forces.
