Jamie Cureton, scorer of both Reading's goals in their 2-1 victory over sleeping-giants Sheffield Wednesday last night revealed that he was pleased with his performance.

The highly-rated striker is not one of Alan Pardew's favourites and reguarly gets left out of the starting line-up in favour of other less-prolific strikers.

Curo didn't start at Derby at the weekend despite scoring a hat-trick in the final pre-season friendly against West Ham. Recalled to the team last night two goals was an excellent repayment for his manager's faith.

Following the game Cureton told Reading World: "I am very pleased. I knew where I was going to put the ball for my first goal and I made good contact. Tha goal gave us a massive lift and everyone belief.

"It's a huge result for us as a team, and it's important for the team to do well. We hope we can take this confidence into all the games."

The Royals number twelve is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up for Saturday's game.
