Convey left Reading earlier this week, ending his association with the club by mutual consent.
Director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website: "Things haven't worked out for Bobby recently but he will always have a place in the club's history.
"We wish him all the best for his future career."
He will join Darren Huckerby who is also at San Jose.
