Coppell wants Sidwell to stay

"Without doubt we do not want to sell him. We want to keep him and I don't think we will sell him in January come what may," said Coppell.

"The only way it would change is if he signs a pre-contract in January with a foreign club. That would obviously affect his commitment to us.

"I don't anticipate that happening but realistically if he is committed to going somewhere else in June then it might be difficult for him to sling himself into tackles or match the commitment he has showed up until now."

Coppell insists he will have to talk to Sidwell about the situation sooner rather than later but admits he would not like to lose the player.

"I would have to question it. I couldn't just stand there and let it happen. I would have to have a serious sit-down with Siddy and talk about it," he said.
