Coppell: Lazy Defending Cost Us

The Royals had clawed their way back from going a goal behind at The Madejski Stadium through debutant Leroy Lita only for Pilgrims substitute Nick Chadwick to grab an injury time winner for the visitors.

"After we equalised I thought the momentum was with us and that we were the most likely to score," Coppell said after the 2-1 defeat.

"But lazy defending caught us out. It's a big disappointment after starting the season with high hopes but this is the good thing about the Championship.

"We've got three games in the first week and we have to put this right."
