Coppell chases Margate Prospect

Royals boss Steve Coppell is tracking 17 year old Margate striker Osman Sesay. He faces tough competition from Spurs chief Martin Jol however, according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper also said that Tottenham handed the youngster a week-long trial at White Hart Lane last week. This alerted the Reading manager to Sesay as they look to seal their promotion to the Premiership with a win at Leicester on Saturday.

Coppell is also particularly looking to bolster his side's attacking options after it was revealed at the beginning of the month that pacey striker Leroy Lita would miss the rest of the season, suffering a broken ankle.
Lita's injury has left the Royals with only three recognised strikers left in the squad; prolific hit man Dave Kitson, Kevin Doyle, and rookie Shane Long.
The Royals chief has specifically stated that he would need to make several new signings as he and his players look towards next season in the top flight of English football for the first time in the club's history.

Non-league forward Sesay will be looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow ex-Conference strikers DJ Campbell, and Jermaine Beckford.
Both recently signed professional contracts with Birmingham City and Leeds United respectively. And Sesay will look to these players as inspiration with both Spurs and Reading interested in his signature.

The player will be hoping for bigger and better things after a previous trial with Fulham was unsuccessful. Steve Coppell may see Sesay as the answer to his injury problems.
