Church preaches starting pledge

Last updated : 27 October 2010

Reading striker Simon Church will double his efforts to try and earn a place in Brian McDermott`s starting line-up. Church came off the bench to score his second goal of the season in the 4-0 win at Burnley last weekend and is hoping to start when Doncaster visit the Madejski this weekend. He said: "We have got two other good strikers in the team and there is a lot of competition which keeps you on your toes. "Everyone wants to play and is disappointed when they don`t play but you`ve just got to keep your head down. "You can`t throw your toys out of the pram. "We had a disappointing result in our last home game but after the win at Burnley we will go in with a lot of confidence."
