Speaking after Reading's clash with Coventry, Sky Blues assistant boss Eric Black admitted he was pleased with the character the side showed.

Following the game Black told readingfc.co.uk: "We showed lots of character to come from behind in that heat. It will be a long tough season and we'll need the character we showed to get through it."

The assistant boss was speaking in the absense of Coventry player-manager Gary McAllister who came off with a hamstring injury.

Black added: "We need to get McAllister fit again as soon as possible as he is so influential to us."

Meanwhile, tickets for Reading's clash with Leicester City at the Walker's Bowl on Saturday are selling well. Almost one thousand five hundred tickets have been sold for the game.

However, for those wanting to go to the game at Walsall the following Saturday, 31st, will have to get in quick, less than a hundred of the Royals 485 allocation of tickets remain. They are currently on sale to season ticket holders on a one-per-season ticket basis.
