In order to draw a bumper crowd, the Royals have taken the decision to allow Royals fans aged 15 of under into the South Stand for just £1.

The match, which is going to be screened live on Sky, kicks off at 12.30pm on Monday 25th August. Youngsters who wish to get hold of one of these cut price tickets must book in advance.

Many are predicting a low turn out for our game against unfashionable Rotherham, given that many will be nursing hangovers or opting to save some cash by watching the game on the tele. Whatsmore, fans will likely stay away due to their desire to avoid the buzzing traffic in town due to the Reading Festival.

The decision to make the game kids for a quid is undoubtedly a wise one as it will ensure an at least respectable attendance.

Kids for a quid is hardly a new idea. Last season, games against Wimbledon, Sheffield United and Grimsby saw kids admitted for just £1. The Grimsby game, the last home league game of the season, saw Reading beat the Mariners 2-1 in front of a 20,273 strong crowd. The result guaranteed an extension of our season, a Play-Off place was secured.
